Ruby K. Stephano (née Kinney), 85, of West Brandywine, PA, passed away on May 28, 2020.
Born October 22, 1934 in Ventura, CA, she was a daughter of the late William Arthur and Helen Salene (Jarvis) Kinney.
Ruby had a successful career as an executive secretary at Wyeth Laboratories in Radnor, PA. After retiring from Wyeth, Ruby kept busy working into her late seventies and beyond. After moving to Freedom Village, Ruby volunteered, giving tours and working as the “juice girl” in the skilled nursing section there.
Ruby, as a teenager, was known for drag racing her father’s 1936 Plymouth in her hometown of Ventura. Ruby was a lifetime member of the Ventura High School Alumni Association. She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines, a women’s barbershop singing group. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge and achieved the rank of Grand Chief. Ruby was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles Fan. Ruby attended the Central Presbyterian Church of Downingtown Pennsylvania.
Ruby was the loving mother of Kathy Heartsough (Matthew) and Arthur Stephano (Beth). Ruby devoted her life to her children’s happiness and well-being.
Services will be held at a later date at her church.
