Robert Trout

Robert Walter “Butch” Trout, age 73, of Havertown, PA, formerly of West Philadelphia, passed away on September 7, 2020.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Loyal Valentine and Sara Elizabeth Trout (nee Fithian).

Robert was a graduate of Overbrook High School and attended St. Joseph’s University.  He was a Navy veteran and a hardworking, dedicated supermarket manager for various companies for many years.

Robert was a generous, honest, humble, thoughtful man who put others before himself and never complained about anything.  He was devoted to his work and to taking care of his family.

Robert was the beloved husband of Joanne Trout (nee Scolieri).  They would have celebrated 48 years of marriage on September 16.   He is also survived by his loving daughter, Jessica Assem, his son-in-law, Philip Assem and his granddaughter, Arya Assem.   He is also survived by his sister-in-law Angelina Calvo, his niece Natalie O’Brien and her husband, Jason, his great-nephew Trevor, great-nieces Taylor and Emily, the DeCurtis Family and his many relatives and friends.

He will be missed and he is loved.   His granddaughter, Arya, reminds us that Pop-Pop will live in our hearts forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Tuesday, September 15, 2020 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Union United Methodist Church, 200 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA and to his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.   Interment will be private.

Per the CDC Guidelines and the State of Pennsylvania, masks are to be worn when visiting the family and to the Funeral Service.   Social distancing is to be observed.
