Margaret McAleer

Margaret T. “Marge” McAleer (nee Tanner), age 69, of Lake Harmony, PA, formerly of Hatfield, PA, passed away on May 23, 2020. Born in Miami, FL she was the loving daughter of the late Otis and Ama Tanner (nee Chaistain).

Marge retired after many decades in the banking industry and went on to enjoy her part-time job at Jack Frost Ski Resort. She was a passionate Rolling Stones fan and loved to dance to live music, especially at Nick’s Lakehouse in Lake Harmony, with her friends. Upon retirement, Marge enjoyed her time on the golf course with her husband, even achieving a hole in one at Split Rock Golf Club. Marge was a former Lake Harmony Rescue Squad Board Member. Those who knew Marge know she disliked being fussed over and would rather give than receive.

Marge was the loving wife of 50 years to Joseph McAleer; beloved mother of Mendy Meriwether (Andrew) and Oliver McAleer; caring grandmother of Riley, Paige, Ella, and Nathan; devoted sister of Faye Pitman. She is also survived by her loving extended family and countless friends.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, services and interment will be private. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
