John Allen

John Raymond Allen, 76, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away September 4, 2019.

Born September 21, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late John Raymond and Catherine Frances (nee Fallon) Allen. He served honorably as a military policeman in the Army during the Vietnam War. John is a graduate of Seton Hall University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration. He and his family experienced living in many parts of the United States throughout his 34 year career as a Customer Service Manager with United Parcel Service. He  finally retired 25 years ago in West Chester, PA.

He was a member of The Saints Simon and Jude Knights of Columbus Council #11564.

John enjoyed fishing, working out and playing racquetball. He loved spending time with his family on the beach in Wildwood Crest. Many cherished memories were made with his grandchildren and family strolling the boardwalk.

He was the beloved husband of Claudia Ann (nee Doyle) Allen; loving father of Raymond R. Allen (Holly), Catherine L. Yost (Barton), and Michael J. Allen (Kathryn); adoring grandfather of Brady, Jackson, Mitchell, Kyle, Eva, Lily, Reese, Liam, Cash, and Grey; and dear brother of Kenneth Allen (Madelyn) and Thomas Allen (the late Mary).

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM, Monday, September 9, 2019 at Ss. Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
