Joan Riley

Joan M. Riley (nee Garland), age 87, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of West Philadelphia, passed away on November 3, 2019.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Martin E. and Mary Rose (nee McAleer) Garland.

Joan was a graduate of West Catholic High School.  She was employed for 10 years as a receptionist in a local Havertown dental office.

Joan was the beloved wife of Donald L. Riley; the loving mother of Donald Riley (Kim), Michael Riley (Connie), Joseph Riley (Noel Garingan), Marilou Donny (Frank) and Ginger Scrimshire (Donovan).  She was the cherished grandmother of Brendon, Lauren, Ryan, Kristy Rose, Megan, Matthew, Sean and Lily.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Monday, November 11, 2019, 9:15 to 10:20 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, followed by her Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM.  Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105, would be appreciated.
