Joan M. Quindlen (nee Quinn) 91, passed away peacefully at The Hearth at Drexel retirement community in Bala Cynwyd PA on January 11, 2021.
Born and raised in Glenolden, PA, Joan was a 1948 graduate of Notre Dame High School for Girls in Moylan, PA. Joan was a 51 year resident of Havertown PA and a 7 year resident of Glen Mills PA. During those years, she was a member of Saint Pius X parish in Broomall and Saint Thomas the Apostle parish in Glen Mills.
Beloved wife for 40 years of the late Francis A Quindlen and loving mother of Francis Quindlen Jr (Patricia), Joanne Salmon (James), David Quindlen (Mary Ann), Paul Quindlen (Lori), Maureen Lupoli (Michael) and Lisa Coggins (John). She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Brennan and Patricia Reilly (Bill), sister-in-law, Betty Quinn, 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her parents, John and Joanna Quinn, her brother, John Quinn, her brother-in-law, Francis Brennan and 2 great grandchildren predeceased her.
Joan worked for TV Guide Magazine until her retirement. Her family was her world. As a wonderful and loving wife and mother, she led her family with grace, dignity, quiet strength and a joyful disposition. She loved the shore, painting, was a skilled seamstress and a world-class shopper and bargain-finder.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Saturday, January 16, 2021, 9:30 – 10:50 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
