Jennie Davis

Jennie Davis was born on April 10, 1925 in Thornton, Pennsylvania to John and Pearl Davis. Jennie passed away May 6, 2020 at the age of 95. Jennie was raised by her stepmother Jessie Davis from a young age. She graduated from Radnor High School in 1944. Jennie worked for the Philadelphia Navy Yard in Philadelphia for 35 years as a secretary.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents John and Pearl Davis; her stepmother Jessie Davis; her sisters Alice M. Harris and Florence C. Chilson; her brother in laws Michael E. Harris and John Chilson; and great niece baby Melissa Jones.

Jennie is survived by her nephew Michael S. Harris and his wife Susan E. Harris; her nieces Barbara Moore and Susan Chilson; her great nieces Lindsay Jones, Kimberly Harris, Clarissa Harris and Kaylee Altman; her great nephews Timothy Jones and David Moore; and her one great-great niece Gracie Jones.

Jennie loved to volunteer her time to her church the Lansdowne United Methodist Church, where she served on the church board and helped in many church activities. She also served as a dolphin volunteer, where she enjoyed spending time with lovely elderly people.

Jennie was a very generous, polite, and hard-working person. She was a very active person and loved going to the YMCA, especially for swimming. Jennie was a devoted Phillies fan. She absolutely loved spending time with her family and friends. She donated to many charity organizations and always looked to help others whenever she could. Jennie will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
