Jean Thompson

Jean H. Thompson, 92, a long-time resident of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on July 17, 2020.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1927, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna (nee Ryan) Pfister.

Jean met her husband Bob, shortly after he returned from his service in the Marine Corps during World War II.  When he asked her parents for their permission to marry her, they told him to wait a year to make sure they were compatible. They were married in 1947 and were together for 73 years.

Jean was the beloved wife of Robert E. Thompson, Sr.; loving mother of Gail A. Kline (George), William R. Thompson (Nancy), and the late Robert E. Thompson, Jr. (Leanne); caring grandmother of Lauri, Gregory, Eric, Matthew, Amanda, and Valerie and great-grandmother of Sophia, Charles, Benjamin, and Jayme.

Services and interment are private.
