Eileen Durkan

Eileen Durkan (nee Groarke), age 87, of Media, PA, formerly of Havertown, PA, on December 21, 2020.   Beloved wife of the late John Durkan.  Predeceased by her parents Michael and Bridget Groarke, her siblings Peter Groarke, Michael Groarke, Kathleen McNamara (Michael), Maura Doherty (Michael) and Anne Dunne; her in-laws James Durkan, Paddy and Mary Ellen Peyton and Kathleen Groarke, her nieces Ann and Kathleen Peyton and her granddaughter, Meghan Reusche.

Loving mother of Maureen Reusche (David), Patricia Durkan, John Durkan (Kelly Rudnick) and Cathy Durkan (Kris Whitenack).   Survived by her 9 grandchildren Robert Stratton (Amy), Kerry Braun (Bill), MaryBeth Whitlark (Michael), Kate Reusche, Aidan Peirce, Drew Peirce, Lauren Carroll, Shane Durkan and Noel Durkan and her 2 great-grandchildren Gus Braun and Zoe Whitlark.  Sister of Philomena McNeela (Michael) and Edward Groarke.   Loving aunt and cousin to many family members in the United States, Ireland, England and Wales.

Due to the Covid restrictions relating to the number of attendees for the State of PA, viewing and interment services are private for the immediate family.  A Private Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity BVM in Media.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Eileen’s memory to Willow Tree Hospice, 616 E. Cypress Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348 or to a hospice of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
