Dolores was born on June 28, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Samuel B. and Jean C. (nee Moore) Chestnut. Dolores was a member of the Southwestern United Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and had served on the board of deacons. She was a supporter of The Free Library of Philadelphia, an avid reader, and a lover of art. She enjoyed drives in the country, spending time with her family, loved camping and spent many summers vacationing with her family and friends.
During the latter years of the Second World War, Dolores had worked at The Philadelphia Naval Shipyard helping to ready vessels for combat duty. She also worked at the F. Weber Company where she met her husband. She later worked as an AT&T operator and a sales associate at the Gimbles and Strawbridge & Clothier Department Stores.
Mom will always be remembered for her warm smile, her loving ways, and the words of encouragement that she provided to us all. She will remain in our hearts forever. ♥
Due to the ongoing dangers associated with the Coronavirus, the McQuiston family has decided against services at this time. When it is safe for family and friends to gather again, a Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Dolores’ life.
