Carol Gaillard

December 21, 1943 — October 7, 2021

Carol Gaillard, longtime resident of Lenni, PA, died on October 7, 2021 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Media, PA from dementia.

Carol was born on December 21,1943 in Mt. Ephraim, NJ. She was a member of the Audubon Bon-Bons All Female Drum and Bugle Corp and graduated from Audubon High School.

Carol was a waitress and proud of it. She started out as a cowgirl at the LongHorn Ranch Restaurant in Glen Mills. She loved shooting her six-shooter cap gun for the patrons that would come in for their birthday celebrations. However, most people knew her as the singing, quick-witted waitress at the Riddle Ale House in Media, where she spent 35 years entertaining a very loyal customer base.

When not working (which was rare) she would be found at the Riddle Memorial Hospital Thrift Shop, Christmas shopping year round and petting any animal she came in contact with. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved the Phanatic especially. She loved singing, mostly Elvis songs, and these songs were the ones that she would remember most even as dementia was stealing her cherished memories.

She was the devoted and selfless mother to her daughter Dana Lewis and her son, Charles Gaillard and they are forever grateful for her love and support through difficult times. She is also survived by her son-in-law James Lewis and her grandchildren Grace, Caroline and Christopher, with whom she spent every available time she could.  She is survived by her sister Joyce Carman and predeceased by her father George, mother Caroline and brother Jay.

The funeral service is private. If you would like, kindly make a donation to your local animal shelter in Carol’s name.
