Basil Mucha, age 72, of Wayne, PA, passed away on February 18, 2021 at home where his loving wife of 37 years was by his side. Although he was born in Alfeld, Germany, he was of Ukrainian descent, the beloved son of the late Stephen and Anna (nee Kobrynowich) Mucha.
Basil’s parents brought him from Germany to the United States at Ellis Island. He was 3 years old, spoke Ukrainian and no English at the time. He learned quickly and was a bright and always inquisitive student, graduating from Central Catholic High School in Allentown, PA. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University. He remained a loyal fan of anything Villanova, particulary of Villanova Basketball. Basil was an Engineering Manager at Teleflex Corporation where he has 2 Patents. He was also President and Owner of Coating Technology Inc. where he has 1 Patent.
Basil was the loving husband of Lee (nee Kelly) Mucha; caring brother of Eugene “Gene” Mucha (Christina) and brother-in-law of William Kelly (Anne Marie), Robert Kelly, and James Kelly (Late Madeleine). Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews who were very special to him and of whom he was so proud.
Relatives and friends are invited to His Visitation, Thursday, February 25, 2021, 9:30-10:30 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by His Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA. Masks are to be worn when visiting the family, to the Funeral Mass, and Cemetery. Social Distancing is to be observed.
