Anne Riehl

March 31, 1931 — October 6, 2019

Anne M. Riehl (nee Brinker), Age 88, on October 6, 2019 of Media, PA.

Beloved wife of John A. Riehl, Sr., dear mother of Daniel J. Riehl (Barbee), Marianne Grossi (William), John A. Riehl, Jr. (Susan), Robin Chen (Thomas) and Eric W. Riehl (JoEllen). Grandmother of Shelbee, Ian, Kayla, Olivia and Johnny.

Anne was born on March 31, 1931 (3/31/31) in South West Philadelphia to Elizabeth and William Brinker where she grew up on 57th Street St. with her sister and three brothers. She attended Most Blessed Sacrament (MBS) and was a 1949 graduate of West Catholic Girls High School.  Anne loved to dance as a young girl and at the age of seventeen, met the love of her life, “Jackie”, at the DeSales Church dance. They became quite the dance couple through their years, winning jitterbug contests, many of those at the Ocean Drive in Sea Isle City, NJ. Married in 1952 at MBS Church, Anne and Jack enjoyed 67 years of a loving marriage together while raising their 5 children. Anne worked at General Electric and later accepted a position at Honeywell as a Technical Draftsperson. Anne loved to draw and write. She was a skilled Calligrapher and shared her gift with others through her beautiful letters of caring, compassion, encouragement, and love. She was very artistic, she enjoyed sketching and painting, she mostly enjoyed decorating and dressing up in her colorful and fashionable outfits. Anne enjoyed reading and playing cards. She was a member of neighborhood book clubs and was passionate about playing cards with her husband and her friends. Anne’s caring and compassionate spirit led her to enjoy lasting friendships from the “old gang of mine”, Virginia Beach, Treaty Rd, Clearwater, and Trout Run Mews.

Most of all, Anne loved spending time with her family and friends. Anne was a true servant of God, as a Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, and Friend. She shared her love and kindness with others each day of her life.
