Wilma A. Houser

Wilma A. Houser, of Springfield, formerly of the Stonehurst section of Upper Darby, sadly passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born in Drexel Hill to the late Melvin M. and Katharine E. Albright (née Watt), Wilma was primarily a homemaker who also operated a licensed family child care home for many years. While living in Upper Darby, she participated in a bowling league and was active in the 69th Street Athletic Association, where her children played baseball. Wilma, along with her late husband, was an avid Phillies fans who enjoyed traveling. She was a lifelong member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Springfield.

Wilma was the beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Houser, Jr. to whom she was married for 58 years. She is survived by her son William Richard “Rick” (Marjorie) and her daughter Karen E. (Timothy) Ashcroft, her grandchildren T.J. (Christine), Colton, Jack, Amelia and Nicholas, and her great-grandchildren T.J., Mackenzie and Maya. Also, special friends, Jim and Barbara Gray, her cousin, Bonnie Hunter, and lifelong friend, Sharon Haslet.

Services and interment will be held privately.
