William “Bill” Charles White, age 80, of Louisville, CO sadly passed away on July 21, 2024 in Springfield, Pennsylvania.
Bill was born in Cedaredge, Colorado in 1943 to his parents, father Elmer White and mother, Mary Louise Hughes.
Bill grew up on the western slope of Colorado where he shared time with buddies. In his pre- teen years they could be found scouring and exploring the mountains around Uravan, Colorado. He graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1961. He went on to pursue his career as an electrician and worked as an apprentice under his uncle. Later he worked for his father as a journeyman electrician and ultimately spent 50 years in his field. Bill worked all over Colorado but spent the bulk of his time in Denver. Many schools in the Denver Public School system are lit up partly due to him.
In 1987, Bill met his love, Marilyn Buchanan. Working for the same company Marilyn asked if he was attending the company Christmas party. After answering, “No.”, she rephrased her question. He happily changed his tune when Marilyn asked, “Would you like to take me to the Christmas party?” They were together ever since.
Bill was a loving and kind man. He and his wife Marilyn shared all of the same loves, such as music and old classic movies. The couple were enthusiastic campers in the Colorado Mountains. So much so, they would leave their camp site set up while they went back home for the work week. All summer and fall they would head back to camp on Wednesday afternoons. As an avid fisherman, you could often find him on the banks of a river, casting for dinner. Bill loved all things spicy. He had a thriving pepper garden every summer and the green chili made from those peppers was legendary. Bill loved to travel around the US to historical sites along with his wife. He especially loved going south and immersing himself in all things Civil War. Bill loved time behind a camera and took wonderful photos of every place he visited.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Buchanan, adoring step-children Jody Thomas (wife of Les Thomas) and Christine Streeper (wife of Kevin Streeper), along with his grandchildren Georgia Thomas, Brett Streeper and Sydney Streeper.
No services will be held in Pennsylvania. Internment will occur in Louisville, Colorado in the spring of 2025.
