William Scharr, Jr

William (Bill) H. Scharr, Jr, 93, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021.

Bill was a devoted husband, loving father, and a true family man.

He was a proud US Army WWII Veteran and graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  Bill was a sales engineer and sole proprietor of a successful business until his retirement in 2010.  Bill’s favorite activities included golf, travel, swimming and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bill was well respected and loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Bill was preceded by his beloved wife Evelyn, daughter Jeanmarie and his siblings, Jean, Joseph Robert, Odette Goodsite and Paul Scharr.   He leaves behind four children, William III, Jeffrey, Colleen and Kim Rohlfing (James) and his brother Richard (Sue) Scharr and Grandchildren William Christopher, Christina, Nicole, William H, Brittany, Jeffrey D, Harry, Evan, Nathaniel and many great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Tuesday, March 16, 2021 10:00-10:20 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Manoa and Shelbourne Roads, Havertown, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

Masks are to be worn when visiting the family, to the Funeral Mass and Cemetery.    Social distancing is to be observed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Legion Post 667 Manoa, 1112 Steel Road, Havertown, PA 19083 would be appreciated.
