William Roy Nelson

William Roy Nelson, 77, of West Chester, PA, peacefully passed the morning of October 5, 2022 surrounded by family.

He was born in Baltimore, MD on May 2nd, 1945 to the late Roy and Isabelle (Rush) Nelson. 

Bill was the beloved husband of Mary (Thillman) Nelson; loving father of Kristin Nelson, Kathleen Dixon (Colin), and Kelly Nelson (Bis Channey); adoring grandfather of Nathan, Caroline and Jacob Dixon; and dear brother of Robert Nelson (Michele).

After graduating from Parkville Senior High School in 1963, Bill went on to further his education at the University of Baltimore graduating with a degree in psychology. He later worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a criminal investigator for 34 years. In his spare time, he was considered a jack of all trades taking pride in caring for his lawn and pool, as well as tackling many home improvement projects.  

He will be remembered for sharing delicious recipes and his love of food, especially corn on the cob, chili, and pot-roast. He never wasted an opportunity to make others laugh by sharing a witty joke, riddle or entertain with a magic trick.  He kept his already brilliant mind sharp by often consulting Siri (“hey Siri”), as well as viewing “how to videos” on youtube with his grandson, Nathan.  

He will be missed by all who love him, including those he visited during his daily Sunday strolls.
