William G. "Bill" Meyer

William G. “Bill” Meyer, of Broomall, PA, a dedicated educator, passed away on April 15, 2026 at the age of 79.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late G. Robert and Mary (née Esposito) Meyer.

Bill's academic journey was marked by his attendance at esteemed institutions including St. Joseph's University, Villanova University, and Fordham University. As a PhD in Philosophy, Bill inspired countless students during his teaching career at both Manor College and St. Joseph’s University, to think critically and embrace the complexities of philosophical inquiry.

Beyond the classroom, Bill was known for his vibrant personality and adventurous spirit. An avid reader, he continually sought to expand his horizons through literature and dialogue. Demonstrating remarkable discipline and endurance, he completed several Marine Corps and Boston Marathons, achievements that spoke to both his physical stamina and mental determination. His love for exploration also led him to weekly journeys into Lancaster County, where he treasured his visits with his Amish friends, embracing the genuine connections that enriched his life.

As a steadfast member of St. Pius X Church in Broomall, Pennsylvania, Bill demonstrated a profound faith and a deep sense of belonging within his spiritual community. His participation was active and long-standing, underscoring a life lived in harmony with his values and convictions.

Bill was the beloved husband of 55 years of Maureen (née Lee) Meyer and is survived by his many friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.

Funeral services for Bill will be held at St. Pius X Church, located at 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass commencing at 10:00 AM. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
