William F. Marinelli, age 93, of Havertown, PA, formerly of "49th Street," passed away peacefully on September 4, 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Filomena (nee Zingani) Marinelli.
William served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Bataan aircraft carrier.
After the service, he became a butcher and opened Marinelli Bros. Grocery Store located at 51st and Stiles Streets in Philadelphia.
He enjoyed watching and rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles teams.
Bill recently played "very competitively" in a Bocce league at the Veterans Park in Broomall, PA.
William was the beloved husband of the late Philomena (nee Fagotti) Marinelli.
He was the loving father of Patricia Marinelli (Barney), Anthony (Carol), William (Terry), Domenic (Joanne) and James (Eveline).
William is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Tracey (Rick), Matthew, Eric, Ryan, Danielle (Joseph), William, James, Angela, Michael and Chris, as well as his 2 great-grandchildren, Patricia and Michael.
William's niece, Terry, took special care of him during his medical challenges late in life.
William was
predeceased by his brother, the late Dominic Marinelli (Sadie).

19008, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
Interment private.
