William F. Kilroy passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020 in West Chester, PA. He was 84 years old.
Born in Mahonoy City, PA, William was a longtime resident of Holland, PA. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. In his retirement he traveled and had fond memories of trips to Ireland, Hawaii, Disney, and Las Vegas. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at the Jersey Shore. He was a man of simple pleasures; happiest when surrounded by family, dogs at his feet, Notre Dame football on the television, and a pack of Tastykakes close at hand.
William was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from high school. After serving, he spent 33 years employed at U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills, PA. Upon retirement, he began a second career at Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas as a slot host. He enjoyed his time in the warm weather, welcoming casino guests and visiting his twin brother.
William was a lifelong devout Catholic and a founding member of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland, PA. He found great strength and comfort in his faith, especially in his final years facing Parkinson’s disease. He never said goodbye to his family without telling them he loved them and drawing the mark of the cross on their shoulder.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Ann T. (nee Larrisey). He is also survived by his loving children Anne K. Mouro, and William S. Kilroy (Karin); grandchildren Jake and Luke LaSala and Emma, Ethan, and Will Kilroy; twin brother Gene Kilroy. He was predeceased by his parents William and Mary Heiler Kilroy, and his brother John Kilroy.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA.
