William H. White

William H. White, a dedicated educator and devoted marathon runner, passed away on April 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by commitment to learning and perseverance. Born on September 29, 1923, in Sumter, South Carolina, Mr. White's life journey was one of service, both to his country and his community.

A proud veteran of the Army, William served his nation with honor before dedicating his talents to the field of education. He was a graduate of Howard University and furthered his expertise by earning a Master's degree in Science Education from South Carolina State. His academic journey and professional career were distinguished by a genuine passion for teaching and mentorship.

William was also a member of the Omega PSI Phi Fraternity, an affiliation that highlighted his commitment to brotherhood and service. Beyond the classroom, he was known as a devoted marathon runner, a pursuit that mirrored his tenacity and dedication in all aspects of life.

William married his beloved wife, Victoria White, who shared many years with him, filled with love and companionship. William was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, whose memories he cherished deeply.

During William's later years, the team at Generations Life Care had the privilege to get to know & care for him. During visits, his Care Managers had many conversations with him where they were able to gain wisdom from his 100 plus years of life. William was always warm, humble & never lost the urge to teach others.

For his 102nd birthday, the local news actually came out to televise his special celebration. He attributed his longevity to being a marathon runner & a lifelong learner. Generations Life Care will deeply miss such a special & endearing man.

William H. White’s life was a testament to the values of hard work, education, and resilience. His contributions as a teacher and his dedication to physical endurance serve as inspirations to all who knew him. He leaves behind a lasting impact that will be remembered with great respect and admiration.
