William Otto Gramlich, 86, of West Chester, PA, passed away December 24, 2024.
Born June 22, 1938, in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late Otto and Anna (nee Schuman) Gramlich.
Bill served honorably in the U.S. Marines.
Bill excelled in basketball in high school and earned full scholarship to Rider College. He was the MVP from 1959-1960 with the Rider Broncs. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Bill was always looking for better opportunity and therefore moved many times over the years from NJ, PA, MO, AR and back to PA; and switched careers late in life from manufacturing and food to financial management; retiring from Vanguard. He also enjoyed coaching youth basketball.
Bill was the beloved husband of Carolyn A. (nee Olt) Gramlich; loving father of William Gramlich, Kimberly Gramlich, and Curt Gramlich (Monica); adoring grandfather of John, Mark, Sarah, Claudia, Frank, Susan, and Nicole; and proud great-grandfather of Lillian and Alaina.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 15, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
