William J. “Del” DelVecchio, of Newtown Square, PA a cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Rinaldo and Anna (née DiTomasso) DelVecchio.
Del dedicated his life to the art of hospitality, working as a professional waiter at various esteemed restaurants throughout Philadelphia. His passion for serving others was evident in the way he interacted with his customers and colleagues, leaving a mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Throughout his career, William became known not just for his exceptional service, but for his warm demeanor, kindness, and genuine care for others. He embraced each dining experience as an opportunity to create lasting memories for guests and foster connections, ensuring that everyone felt seen and appreciated during their time in his presence.
Del was the beloved husband of the late Judith A. “Judy” (née Wright) DelVecchio; the loving father of Suzanne Borio (Richard), Donna McCoy (Michael), and Michael DelVecchio (Heather). He was the proud and caring grandfather of Edward, Dana, Caroline, Allison, Angelina, Deanna, and Christina. Del is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends. He is predeceased by his brother, Robert DelVecchio.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor Del’s life at a Viewing on Friday, January 16, 2026, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
