William "Bill" J. Clavin

William J. Clavin, 60, of Clifton Heights, PA, passed away April 27, 2022.

Born January 10, 1962 in Drexel Hill, PA, he was a loving son of the late Joseph M. and Bettie Marie (nee D'Amond) Clavin.

Bill was a graduate of Penn State University’s Department of Geosciences (Main Campus) with a B.S. in Geophysics. He practiced in that field in the 80s working at most of the U.S. EPA Superfund sites in the environmental field. In the 90s, Bill entered into the Information Technology business for various service providers working at many large corporate institutions as an I/T analysist and tech support. Bill later retired from employment to stay home and support his loving mother during her nearly two-decade long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  Bill had stated that this period was his most gratifying as his mother was “his Mom, best friend, and near the end of her journey - his baby, that he was taking care of until the end”.

As a hobby, Bill was an avid student and buff of history and the sciences. Bill enjoyed traveling cross-country as well as weekend trips to the Jersey shore (Avalon/Stone Harbor) with his Mom and sister, Jennifer. In addition, the three of them enjoyed going to the movies and out to dinner until a few years prior to his Mom’s passing. Being an alumnus of Penn State, Bill faithfully watched and rooted for his favorite NCAA football team – The Nittany Lions.

Bill was the beloved brother of Jennifer Clavin of Media, PA, Elizabeth (Thomas) Meehan of Glenolden, PA, Robert (Donna) D'Amond of Morton, PA, Mary Anne (the late Paul) Peterson of Aston, PA, Frances Clavin of Dallas, TX, and Christopher (Anna) Clavin of Chester Springs, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his very dear, long-time friend, Tony (Karin) Nicolella.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association,  www.alz.org in memory of William.

Services and interment will be held privately.
