William "Buzz" D. Van Riper Jr.

William “Buzz” D. Van Riper Jr., 80, of West Chester, PA passed away on July 3, 2022.

Born in Englewood, NJ in 1942, he was the son of the late Sylvia I. (née Gardner) and Dr. William D. Van Riper Sr.

William served honorably in the US Army and was a Drill Sergeant stationed at Fort Dix. He was a 1965 graduate of Wilmington College in Ohio.  He was the owner operator of Designs for Business. A member of the Chester County Trail Hiking club, he had a true passion for hiking and the outdoors.

William was the beloved husband of 56 years to Barbara R. (née Hoff) Van Riper; loving father of William “Bill” D. III, Jacob H. (Christina) and Alexandra C. O’Hara; devoted grandfather of Zachary, Zoey, Teaghan, Kathleen, Kellen and Morgan; dear brother of Barbara Cossman and Elizabeth Van Riper. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Monday, July 11, 2022 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 610-431-9000 followed by his Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
