William T. Burgin, Jr.

William T. Burgin, Jr., age 92, of Wayne, PA, died on June 22, 2026. Born in Glen Cove, NY, he was a beloved son of the late Pauline (nee Savage) and William Taylor Burgin, Sr. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas R. Burgin.

William is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia H. Burgin (nee Harris), sisters-in-law, Margaret Harris and Sharon Harris, and many nieces and nephews.

William graduated from Mamaroneck High School in Larchmont, NY, in 1952. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, Class of 1956. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, a source of lifelong friends. He received the Lehigh Alumni Award and recently the Brown and White Award. For seventy years he wrote his class column for the Lehigh Alumni Bulletin.

A Lehigh ROTC graduate, he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army.

His early career was in advertising. At mid-career, William became an actor, performing in regional theaters and in films. He was a member of Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. Later he served as financial administrator of Jan Hus Presbyterian Church in New York City.

Bill and Patricia enjoyed travel, including visits to Florida’s Gulf Coast, Bermuda, and Italy.

Bill was a member and former deacon of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. He was a devoted family member.

Interment will be private. In remembrance of Bill and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Surrey Services for Seniors, Devon, PA; The Lehigh University Patricia H. and William T. Burgin, Jr., ’56 Fund for Theatre; or Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, Bryn Mawr, PA.
