Virginia Bourne Price (née Brooks), age 94, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Hawley, Sr. and Adele Elizabeth (née Hartzel) Brooks.
Virginia graduated Goucher College, attended Drexel University, and Barnes Foundation, where she studied Horticulture. Virginia was a Biologist and then worked as an Interior Designer at the American Society of Interior Designers.
Virginia enjoyed traveling, as well as creating Ikebana flower arrangements and designing her own custom jewelry. She was also fond of painting, needlepointing, knitting, and sewing.
Virginia was a member of the Junior League of Philadelphia Garden Club and Cooking Klatch. She also was involved with the OHara School of Ikebana, Mexican Society of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Art Museum, Barnes Foundation, Hardy Plant Society, Scott Arboretum, Henry Foundation, and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and Zeta Chapter.
Virginia attended Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church and was an active member there.
Virginia was the loving mother of Kathryn Lynn Brown (Kenn), William Blake Price, and Van M. Price. She was the devoted grandmother of Benjamin Kooper Brown (Amy) and William Kortney Brown (Jacquelyn), and great-grandmother to her 7 precious great-grandchildren. Virginia is predeceased by her brother, Edwin, Hawley Brooks, Jr. (Kathryn), her first husband, William Harold Pravitz and ex-husband, Mitchell Price.
Virginia’s family extends their thanks to all the staff at Dunwoody Village, for the loving care she received while residing there.
Services and interment will be held privately for Virginia.
