Viktor Shyti

Viktor Shyti, age 82, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on January 15, 2024.

Born in Berat, Albania, he was the son of the late Vangjel and Haritini (née Valle) Shyti and brother of late Kristafgji, Theodhor and Llukan Shyti.

Viktor was a graduate of Polytechnic University of Tirana, School of Engineering, in Albania, Class of 1966. Upon graduation, he worked as an electrical engineer in city of Gramsh for 8 years. Subsequently, he joined the high school of mechanical and electric as a faculty member in the city of Korca Albania.  In 1996, Viktor immigrated to the United States and was then employed with CitySteel in Claymont, DE until his retirement in 2007.

Viktor was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  One of his favorite passtimes was playing a good game of chess and spending time with his family and friends.

Viktor was the beloved husband of Theodhora (née Minka) Shyti of 55 years; the loving father of Rafael Shyti (Eranda) and Eleni Gkoulis (Petros).  He was the proud grandfather of Victor Shyti, Elliot C. Shyti, Anna Gkoulis, and Violeta Gkoulis.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Friday evening, January 19, 2024, 5:00 to 7:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, 610-353-6300, and on Saturday morning, January 20, 2024, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. John Chrysostom Albanian Orthodox Church, 237 N. 17^th Street, Philadelphia, PA  19103, followed by his Funeral Mass, 11:00 AM. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
