Vicente Ramirez

January 29, 1931 — October 16, 2019

Vicente Alaras “Vic” Ramirez, age 88, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 16, 2019.

Vic was the son of the late Manuel and Sebastiana (nee Alaras) Ramirez who was born in Balayan, Batangas, Philippines on January 29, 1931.

Vic and his family immigrated from the Philippines to the United States in 1972.  They lived in Milwaukee WI, Claremore OK, Bogalusa, LA and Belcourt, ND.  They became United States citizens in 1989.  He and wife, Visi, retired in 1997 and moved back to the Philippines.  Vic moved back to the United States in 2019, three years after Visi died.

As an engineer by training, Vic had a passion for tinkering.  He immaculately maintained his cars.  He made tables, chairs and chests. He was handy around the house and always had creative ideas on how to fix a myriad of problems from broken cabinets to electrical issues.  He also used his creativity for cooking. He loved to make Filipino dishes and baking breads and cakes.

Vic volunteered at numerous local organizations.  For example, he once gave of his talents at a vocational school in Louisiana to help educate young adults.  Vic was a devoted Catholic and an active parishioner in the local churches he belonged to. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus,  s a Eucharistic Minister and ministered to prisoners.

We will remember Vic as kind-hearted and thoughtful.  Vic was a devoted husband.  He loved his family and friends. He was a humble servant of God.

Vic was the beloved husband of the late Visitacion “Visi” (nee Cuyson) Ramirez, MD; the loving father of Emmanuel Ramirez and Esteban Ramirez; and the devoted grandfather of Catherine, Theresa, Matthew, Peter, Phillip and Patrick. He was the dear brother of Rosario Ramirez and Roman Ramirez (Dolly).  He is predeceased by his siblings, Manuel Ramirez, Jr., Perico Ramirez, Salvador Ramirez and Jose Ramirez.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass, Saturday, October 26, 2019, 10:30 AM at SS. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA  19382.  Interment private.
