Tina Sunyoung Lee

Tina Sunyoung Lee, age 60, of West Chester, PA, passed away on June 18th, 2024.

Tina was born on March 14, 1964, in Masan, South Korea, to Uk Seung Lee and Sung Ae Kim. She spent her first thirteen years in South Korea, then immigrated to the USA in 1978. She attended high school in California and then entered college at UCLA, School of Social Welfare where she graduated with her master’s degree. In January of 1999, she met Byeong Chul Ben Park. They were married in a garden wedding on June 13 of that year at the home of the late John and Virginia Somerville of Montreat, North Carolina.

Tina was a woman of faith who to the very end lived out the meaning of Proverbs 3:5-6, trusting God to lead her to the right paths. She also appreciated other religious and spiritual teachings and sought deeply her own spiritual growth.

Her character was marked by compassion, kindness, and grace including an ability to pay attention to details. Her special power was making sure none of her two sons’ misbehavior got past her careful eyes. She always considered the needs of others all the days of her life.

Tina is survived by her husband Dr. Byeong Chul Ben Park and two sons - Ji Woong (John) and Ji Sung (Richard). She is also survived by her aunts, uncle, and cousins of Seoul, South Korea. 

A memorial service will be held on July 17th at 7:30 pm, at the Philadelphia Jubilee Presbyterian Church (필라 기쁨의 교회: https://jubilee-km.org/kor/).
