Thomas, (a.k.a. Tommy, Big T, T-Ball, Big-Man) Pimley, youngest son of Andrew and Mary Anne Pimley, passed away on April 24th, 2018 at the age of 50.
He was born on July 21st, 1967 and grew up with his two loving parents, 4 older brothers and younger sister in Westtown, PA.
He was a graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School and went on to attend The Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. His career focused on sales for a variety of organizations, which eventually led him to many successful years in sales with SAP in Newtown Square.
Tom was a widely adored teddy bear, natural born life of the party, big hearted, big living, big everything soul. It is not an exaggeration to say that everyone who met Tom, remembered him. Once past his sometimes blustery, opinionated exterior, you came to know a deeply sensitive, deeply caring and thoughtful man. His personality would fill a room and his sense of humor would routinely have everyone doubled over with laughter. These were vintage Tom moments. Tears streaming down faces with laughter and Tom beaming with joy as he made it happen. He generously doled out bear hugs that will be sorely missed because there was nothing like being swallowed up in his arms.
Tom loved WWII documentaries, Sci-fi movies and all kinds of music - played loudly. In fact, college roommates, his neighbors and his parents will fondly remember his propensity for late night sessions blaring everything from Led Zeppelin to Frank Sinatra.
Tom was a deviled egg connoisseur, a concoctor of massive desserts, lover of peanut butter and Fluff and, No, he didn't care, ice in his red wine. He also surely helped keep people at Captain Morgan's Rum employed over the years.
Tom took pride in being the son, brother or friend you could always count on, no matter what the need. He was always, unquestioningly, fiercely loyal and protective of those he loved. His nieces, and nephews were the lights of his life as he relished playing the role of Uncle T.
Tom fought and won a fight with cancer and not long after, courageously took up a battle against Multiple Sclerosis which he fought until his last day.
Tom was truly one of a kind individual who will be leaving behind enormous holes in the hearts of his family and friends.
He survived by his parents Andrew and Mary Anne, as well as his brothers Mark (Kim) Pimley, Stephen (Monica) Pimley, Michael (Martha) Pimley, and James (Maria) Pimley, his sister Maureen (James) Flaherty and as well as his many adoring nieces and nephews. We'll miss you Tommy!
