On January 20, 2021, Thomas F. Kehoe, III, loving husband of Bernice and father to Patricia, Thomas, Jennifer, and Adam passed away peacefully at the age of 93.
Tom was born on July 16, 1927 in Norristown, PA to Thomas and Elizabeth (McCafferty). He received his bachelor’s degree from La Salle University and later an MBA from Rutgers University. Tom had the unusual distinction of serving in the armed forces during both World War II and the Korean War. He had the further distinction of serving in both the Army and Navy.
After beginning his professional life as a fourth grade teacher, Tom changed course and had a successful career in sales for, among others, Warner-Lambert, Johnson & Johnson, and the last 20+ years with Conde Nast, both in New York and San Francisco.
While living in San Francisco, Tom realized a dream to become a vintner, and opened a commercial winery which, in its time, was the only commercial winery located in the city. A lifelong oenophile, his love of wine may only have been surpassed by his love of sweets, tennis, or opera. He was also an avid reader and was known for his cheerful and compassionate spirit.
Tom enjoyed a 51-year marriage to Bernice (Greenwald) who preceded him in death in 2018. Together they reveled in many trips abroad, hosted countless parties, and opened their door to all who might wander in.
In addition to his four children, Tom is survived by seven grandchildren and his sisters, Betsy Mooney and Barbara Wellock.
