Thomas J. Morgan

August 28, 1951 — February 24, 2024

Thomas Joseph Morgan, age 72, of Havertown, PA was called to his heavenly home on February 24, 2024.

Thomas was the devoted husband of 39 years to Maria Morgan (nee McNabb). Loving father to Thomas (Courtney), Anne McDonald (Shaun), Caroline Sugden (Brian), and James Morgan. Proud grandfather to Connor and Clayson McDonald, and Cooper Morgan. Adoring brother to James (Rosemary), Vincent (Ann), Caroline DiGiovanni (Alberto), John, and the late Anne Morgan. Beloved son of the late James F. and Mary F. Morgan (nee Schuver). Treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Tom was a loyal and selfless soul with a heart of gold. He was a friend to all who crossed his path. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tom moved to Havertown as a young boy. He was a graduate of Annunciation BVM School, Monsignor Bonner High School, and St. Michael’s College (University of Toronto). Tom spoke fondly of summers with his family in Hull, Massachusetts. He greatly enjoyed his time in Toronto and the beautiful terrain of British Columbia while working on geological studies.

Tom married the love of his life on August 18, 1984 at St. Thomas of Villanova Church. He fulfilled his life’s purpose with the birth of each of his children. Tom’s devotion to his family was unmatched and his faith was central to his life. He was proud to have raised his children in his lifelong parish of Annunciation BVM. His unwavering support was deeply felt by his children through his presence at nearly every single sporting event and extracurricular activity. He helped coach several teams and served as Scout Leader of Troop 463. Tom was elated to gain the title of Grandpa in 2022 and his heart grew with the birth of each grandchild. His children will forever picture him with a big smile on his face and outstretched arms in eager anticipation for a warm embrace. He truly beamed with pride.

Tom loved a good road trip and was always willing to travel great lengths with family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was hangout with his friends, especially “the gang”.

Tom was a loyal employee of over 40 years at Peirce-Phelps where he made long lasting friendships with colleagues and customers. In his six years of retirement, he read countless books, enjoyed early mornings at the gym, experimenting with new recipes, and most importantly, enjoyed more quality time with those he loved.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom’s Viewing on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, 6:00-8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082 and Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10:30 am, Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd, Havertown, PA 19083.
