Thomas Joseph Gillan, Sr.

Thomas J. Gillan, Sr, 102, of Morton, PA passed away peacefully at his home on November 27, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth F. (nee Murr) Gillan and son of the late Francis and Gertrude (nee Cummings) Gillan.

Thomas was a WWII veteran serving in the Southwest Pacific under Douglas MacArthur. He participated in the battle of New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago & Philippine Island Campaigns & Liberation. Thomas was awarded Philippine Liberation Medal w/Bronze star, American Theater Service Medal, EAME Theater Service Medal w/3 Bronze stars and a Good Conduct Medal w/Cluster. He enjoyed collecting model trains and building computers. Thomas had previously been employed by Pennsylvania Railroad as a Signalman.

He is survived by his loving sons Thomas Joseph Gillan, Jr.(Janet) and Keith Michael Gillan, adoring grandchildren Dawn & Deanna, 5 Great-Grandchildren and his caring sisters Anne Bellace (late Clem)  & Joan Doyle (Leo).
