Thomas “Tom” Frascella, age 65, of Wayne, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 8, 2026 from lung complications after a sudden cardiac event. He was in the presence of his loving wife.
Born on May 14, 1961, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Daniel N. Frascella, Sr. and Fanny Frascella, Tom grew up in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, raised in a loving home where family values and faith were emphasized.
After graduating from Bishop Hoban High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Tom went on to the University of Scranton where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1983. Tom furthered his education at Duquesne University School of Law where he graduated in 1987.
Tom spent years of hard work building a very successful career specializing in State and Local Tax. The beginning of his career started with working for the State of Pennsylvania. Following that, Tom moved on to work for Coopers & Lybrand for 6 years; Ernst & Young for another 6 years; Deloitte for 5 years along with a few other stops along the way at smaller accounting firms. Tom spent nearly 14 years at Kreischer Miller, where he planned to finish his career, and retire in December. Tom had a knack for developing genuine client relationships. His client commitment coupled with an extensive knowledge base on all things state and local tax earned him deep respect within his field.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tom will be remembered for his kind and caring nature, his incredible sense of humor and ability to make anyone laugh, his generous heart and unwavering loyalty. Tom was passionate about many things in life, but nothing brought him more joy than his family. The consummate provider and protector, Tom also loved deeply. His wife and children were the true loves of his life.
Outside of work and family, he found balance in both active pursuits and quiet moments. An avid visitor to the gym and a familiar face relaxing at Martin’s Dam Club, he was equally at home spending summer days at the beach or immersed in a good history book. He took great pride in creating a beautiful outdoor space around his home through thoughtful gardening and landscaping. When his children were younger, he enjoyed coaching their teams and cheering them on at their respective sporting events.
Tom is now reunited with his parents, Fanny and Dan Frascella. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Gretchen Frascella; his children, Ryan Frascella (Valerie), Anne Frascella and Jane Frascella; his brother, Dan Frascella, Jr. (Janet).
The Frascella family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, good samaritans, police officers, first responders and countless medical professionals at Temple University Hospital and Chestnut Hill Hospital who cared for Tom and our family with compassion and expertise. We are eternally grateful.
