Theresa M. Crowne

Theresa M. Crowne (née Cantwell), age 70, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on May 8, 2025.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on Christmas day, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Marguerite Cantwell (née Moughan) and truly a gift to all who knew her.

She grew up in Germantown and was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish. She graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1972. She later married the love of her life, Dennis, and together they built a life filled with love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to one another.

Her greatest joy was being a wife, a mom, and a Nana. She poured her heart into raising her four children, creating a home filled with love, faith, and laughter. Becoming Nana to eight grandchildren was one of her life’s greatest blessings, and she cherished every moment spent with them—cheering them on, spoiling them with love, and leading by example with the strength, grace, and kindness she hoped they would carry into the world.

A long-term member of St. Laurence Church, she was deeply committed to her Catholic faith. She gave her time generously—volunteering for parish events, teaching CCD, singing in the church choir, and standing up for causes close to her heart. She was a passionate pro-life supporter and proudly advocated for the unborn.

She was someone who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially spending time with her family, vacationing in Lancaster, and sending thoughtful birthday and holiday cards that made everyone feel remembered and loved. She was also a true Philadelphia sports fan—especially devoted to the Phillies—and celebrated her 45th wedding anniversary with Dennis on the same day the Eagles won the Super Bowl, a moment that brought her great joy.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be remembered for her deep faith, her quiet strength, and the love she showed so generously to others. Her faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Theresa was the beloved wife of Dennis F. Crowne; loving mother of Dennis F. Crowne, Jr., Julie McNamee (Patrick), Maureen Cebular (David), and Terri Corbett (Patrick); adoring Nana of Ryan, Nora, Colin, Riley, Sean, Katherine, Molly, and Tommy; caring sister of Mary Frances Cantwell F.J.J., Margie Herbert (late Dennis), Katie Cantwell, Frank Cantwell (Nancy), Joseph Cantwell, Fr. Stephen Cantwell, C.M., Timothy Cantwell (Eunice) and Michael Cantwell.

Family and friends are invited to Theresa’s Viewing 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2025 and 9:30-10:30 AM Friday, May 16, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
