Sylvia M. Baran

Sylvia Magdeline Baran (nee Ormanowski), age 95, of Richland, WA, passed away on September 21, 2023.

Born in Nanticoke, PA in 1928, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Stanley Theodore and Anna (nee Gorecki) Ormanowski.  She was a devout Catholic, who truly loved each member of her family in a constant caring way.  Everyone enjoyed her exceptional cooking, marveled at her creative gardening (many believed on par with Longwood Gardens) and benefitted from her lovely flower arrangements. 

Sylvia was the beloved wife of the late Alexander S. Baran, Sr.; loving mother of Alexander S. Baran, Jr. (Peg), Ann M. Phillips, Mary S. Lasota (Mike), Lynn M. Raffaldi (John), and Dawn M. Timberlake (Bryce); caring grandmother of Mary O’Malley (Chris), Eric Baran (Kathryn), Matthew Baran (Sara), Timothy Baran (Heather), Randolph Phillips Jr (Sara), Derrich Phillips (Katrin), Kristen Phillips, Michael Phillips (Stacy), Konrad Lasota (Christina), Alexandra Lasota, Paige Reese (Nick), Sean Timberlake (Hayley), William Timberlake, John Timberlake (Isabella), Ann Timberlake and Jake Timberlake; adoring great-grandmother of Brianna, Braden, and Bryson Phillips, Benjamin, Jamison, and Rowan Phillips, Ella and Violet Phillips, William, Jake and Brooke Dunn, Kaden Lasota, Keira and Ailey O’Malley, William and Lilianna Baran, Garrett and Colton Baran, Sophia, Benjamin, and Olivia Baran, Gabriel Baran (Infant, deceased), Felicity and Rose Reese; dear sister of the late Ignatius A. Orman.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation (10 AM) Monday, October 2, 2023, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, followed by a Rosary Service (10:45 AM) and her Funeral Mass at (11 AM).  Interment at All Souls Cemetery.
