Susan Alexander Roberts FitzPatrick, lovingly known as Susie to her husband, Thomas J. FitzPatrick, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Susan and Tom’s story began in Margate, New Jersey, during the summer of 1967. Married for 58 years, they built a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering support, and a bond that only grew stronger with time. Their happiest place was always “down the shore,” where they spent countless summers relaxing at their beach condo in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.
Together, Susan and Tom raised their children, Michael Todd FitzPatrick (Donna) and Kristin Anne FitzPatrick, in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. Susan was a steadfast supporter of her children’s love for the performing arts and spent many years volunteering with the Upper Darby Choral Association.
Susan was an avid reader, a lover of crafts, and a devoted collector of snails—each one a small treasure that reflected her eye for whimsy and her gentle way of noticing what others might overlook. She had a natural gift for writing and an impeccable command of grammar, often becoming the family’s go‑to editor for anything that needed a little extra attention. She carried others in her thoughts and prayers every day, offering quiet support in her own way. Susan was also a remarkably thoughtful gift‑giver, always choosing presents that made others feel loved.
Her greatest joy came from being a granny. She cherished every moment with Nathan, Noah and Grace—reading children’s books, playing cards, singing, and creating memories that will be held close forever.
Susan is survived by her sister, Carolyn R. Luce and her brother, Timothy Roberts, along with her many nieces, nephews and her beloved sisters‑ and brothers‑in‑law, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is now reunited in heaven with her parents H. Armstrong Roberts and Sylvia H. Roberts and her brother H. Armstrong Roberts III, who have been lovingly waiting to welcome her home. The thought of their embrace brings comfort to those who will forever cherish her memory.
We say goodbye with love to Susan, Snooze, Susie, Aunt Su, mom, granny. Her soft pats on our hands, and her comforting hugs will stay in our hearts. Her kindness touched every one of us, and we will carry her memory forward as a family.
Services and Interment are Private.
