Steven G. Swartz, Jr.

May 3, 1980 — May 10, 2026

Harpers Ferry, WV Formerly of Havertown, PA

Steven George “Steve” Swartz, Jr., of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, formerly of Havertown, PA, a devoted family man and dedicated professional, sadly passed away on May 10, 2026, at the age of 46.

Born in Drexel Hill, PA, he was the son of Steven and Kathleen (née Healy) Swartz.

A graduate of Haverford High School, Class of 1998, Steve went on to further his education at Williamson College of the Trades. He graduated in 2001 with a major in Power Plant Technology, equipping him with the specialized skills that shaped his professional path. Steve served as an operations manager at the Potomac Energy Center in Leesburg, Virginia, where he was respected for his expertise and dedication.

Steve’s children and grandchildren were the light of his life. His unwavering love and dedication to them were evident in everything he did. There was nothing he would not do within his power to support and care for them, and his devotion has left an indelible mark on their hearts.

Steve’s spirit was also expressed through his love for ice hockey. As team captain of the “Misfit Toys,” he embodied leadership, enthusiasm, and camaraderie. His passion went beyond the ice rink; he participated, along with his team, in the 11 Day Power Play in Buffalo, NY, a notable community-driven hockey marathon dedicated to raising funds for local cancer research. This endeavor highlighted Steve’s commitment to giving back and uplifting causes close to his heart. Despite moving away, Steve still cheered on the Phillies, Eagles and of course the Flyers.

Steve was the loving father of Tyler Swartz, Isabella Swartz, Madison Swartz, Dillon Liszkiewicz (Brittney), and Courtney Liszkiewicz (Will). He was the proud and caring grandfather of Maxton and Haydrian. He is also survived by his dear parents, Steven and Kathleen Swartz, his loving sisters, Krista Swartz (Keith) and Kimberly Swartz, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and many faithful co-workers, teammates, and friends. It would be amiss to not mention his two Great Danes, Maya and Thor.

A Viewing will be held in memory of Steve on Tuesday evening, May 19, 2026 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday morning, May 20, 2026, 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008. Interment thereafter at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
