Stephen Martin-Chester

Stephen "Stevie" Martin-Chester, 73, of Norristown, PA, formerly of CT, passed away August 2, 2023.

Born in New Haven, CT in 1950, Stevie was the son of the late Harold and Dorthy Martin.

He was the beloved husband of Arthur Martin-Chester.  He is survived by his step-children, Eric Chester (Jennifer), Gregory Chester, and Jennifer Hatcher (Council), grandchildren Talia, Miles, Joseph, Bishop, Maison, and Adelaide and a great granddaughter Makenna Rose Hatcher.  He is also survived by many close friends, including Judy Kaplow and John McNiell.

Stevie was predeceased by his husband Arthur and his sister Elizabeth "Annie" Gutierez.

Stevie was very active in his church, Whosoever Metropolitan Community Church, and was a strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service at 11:00 am Saturday August 12, 2023 at Whosoever Metropolitan Community Church, 3637 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whosoever Metropolitan Community Church in Stevie's memory.
