Stephen James LaFlamme, of Lafayette Hill, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill, a man whose life was defined by service, courage, and unwavering dedication, passed away on August 12, 2025, at the age of 77.
Stephen served his country honorably in the U.S. Army, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. His bravery and commitment to his country were recognized with the honor of the Purple Heart, an award that reflects his sacrifices and the challenges he faced during his service. He also has many other military distinctions.
Stephen’s career as a counselor for the U.S. Army exemplified his deep commitment to the well-being of his fellow servicemen and women and highlighted his empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by soldiers. Colleagues and friends admired his ability to listen and provide guidance during difficult times, affirming his enduring influence on countless lives throughout his career.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Stephen had a variety of hobbies and interests. He had a profound love for cars and was known to appreciate the intricate details and engineering behind different models. Additionally, he found joy in playing billiards, an activity where he showcased both skill and camaraderie with friends.
Stephen is survived by his loving sons, Chris LaFlamme and Sean LaFlamme; his dear grandchildren, Eric LaFlamme, Natalie LaFlamme, Quinn LaFlamme, and Caelyn LaFlamme. He is also survived by his sisters, Dolores (Deanie) Jeanne Searing, Cheryl (Cherie) Lynn LaFlamme, as well as his many friends. He has been reunited with brothers Michael Frederick LaFlamme and Paul Louis LaFlamme in heaven.
A Visitation in honor of Stephen will take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.
