Stella McGlone, age 86, of Broomall, PA, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Aurelia (nee Blouin) Magoon.
On October 15, 2019, one of earth’s angels joined her loving husband in heaven. Stella loved life, her crafts, her garden, and her friends. Above all, she loved her family.
Every year, Stella tended her bumper crop of blueberries (those that the deer didn’t eat). She loved her flowers and her plants, and she gave cuttings to everyone, whether they wanted them or not. Stella was a master of every kind of craft: crocheting, knitting, sewing, plastic canvas…if she saw it and liked it, she made it. She loved to play cards, and she was sharp!!! She always won, relishing her victory with laughter and a twinkle in her eye.
She was the best wife, mom, grand mom and friend anyone could ask for. Her family has such wonderful memories of the love, laughter, and good times we shared. Holidays and family vacations were her favorite times. Stella was famous for the Christmas stockings she created and filled for everyone in the family, no matter how much that family grew over the years.
Stella was the beloved wife of the late William A. McGlone; the loving mother of William McGlone (Victoria), Michael McGlone (Dona), Teresa Hilsee (Walter), Thomas McGlone (Jacqueline) and Joyce Patrick (Michael). She was the cherished grandmother of Katherine, Danny, Matt, Cory, Jon, Rachael, Nick, Pierce, Tommy, Kelly, Matt, Ryan, Megan, Leah and Colleen and the devoted great-grandmother of Jonathan, Jake, Jamieson, Grayeson, Ethan and Jonah. Stella is survived by her siblings, Lena Campbell and Joseph Magoon and by her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, Beatrice Nowak, Florence Campbell, Harland “Paul” Magoon, John Magoon and Bobby Magoon.
Family and friends are invited to her Viewing Monday, October 21, 2019, 9:00 – 10:50 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Stella’s honor to JDRF, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004, www.jdrf.org, which is the largest funder of research related to type one diabetes.
