Sidney M. Melchiorre

Sidney Marie Melchiorre (nee Finocchio), age 100, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on June 13, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Josephine Finocchio (nee Sirolli). Sidney was a beloved soul whose life was a testament to faith, love, and unwavering kindness. She was known for her very pretty smile and her devout Catholic faith. Sidney leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. 

Throughout her life, Sidney found solace and strength in her faith. She was an active member of the Women's Club at St. Andrew's and took great joy in being a part of the Rosary Club called Muffins with Mary. Her dedication to saying the rosary and spreading love through her community exemplified her commitment to serving others.

Sidney found joy in simple pleasures such as cooking and baking, activities she shared with family and friends. She loved spending time at her happy place in Ocean City, NJ. Sidney cherished moments spent traveling with loved ones and had a special passion for cheering on the Eagles and Phillies. Christmas held a special place in her heart as she adored baking, shopping, and decorating during the festive season. Sidney’s generous spirit extended not only to her hobbies but also to those around her. Her loving nature touched the lives of many, earning her a special place in their hearts. Her courage in facing life's challenges, alongside her unwavering commitment to those she held dear, made her a pillar of strength for all who knew her.

Sidney was the beloved wife of Ronald C. Melchiorre; loving mother of Elizabeth Thatcher, Ronnie Melchiorre (Pam), Joanne Mushlit (Larry), and Carol McKeon (the late Jeffrey); beloved grandmother of Sydney, Janelle, Geveneen, Matt, Alison, Amber, Lawrence, Alexis, and Mark. Also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Harry Finocchio.

Relatives and friends are invited to Sidney's Viewing 9:30-10:30 AM on Friday, June 21, 2024 at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Ln., Drexel Hill, PA 19026, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
