Sarah “Sally” Ann Hooker (O’Donnell), age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania. She was born March 8th, 1937, in Allentown, PA to Dr. Parry and Catherine (nee Collins) O’Donnell. She attended Immaculata University and met the love of her life, Thomas Hooker, while he was attending Villanova University.
Sally was the matriarch of her family. She filled her life with simple pleasures; conversing on the phone with her friends and family, playing a game of cards, enjoying a hearty meal, and spending her summers in Ocean City, NJ with her grandchildren. She had a special gift of making others feel heard, asking questions, and reaching people in a deep way. She expressed herself through cooking, decorating, and her favorite, her fashion. Above all, she lived true to her values and loved her family with every ounce of her being. She lived each day to the fullest, but always looked forward to the day she would reunite with her late daughter, Catherine (Cathy) Hooker.
Sally is survived by her husband of 68 years, Thomas, her son, Dr. Thomas Hooker and his wife Charlotte, her daughter Cheryl (Sherry) and her husband William (Bill), her beloved grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Andrew and his wife Chelsea, Caitlin and her husband Nicholas, Kelly, and her great grandson Andrew Jr.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Sally touched are invited to a Visitation to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat like Sally would want to, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. A Funeral Mass will follow commencing at 10:30 AM. Interment private.
