Sarah Ellen Peronto (nee Russell)

Ellen passed quietly on Sunday, after a long illness, at her home in West Chester surrounded by loved ones. Ellen recently returned from a long visit to native Scotland, where she was visiting family and loved ones.

Ellen is predeceased by the love of her life, husband Patrick Peronto. She is survived by her sister Rhona Ellis, children Mary Myers (husband Jim), Margaret Kelly, Robert Thornton (wife Jane), Rhona Johnston (husband Callum), and Laura Benos (husband Steven). She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

More than anything, she loved her children, 11 grandchildren (grand weans) and 15 great-grandchildren (great-grand weans).

Ellen (Nanny-Bingo) loved her Bingo and dancing to her favorite Disco music. She was a fun-loving and gregarious woman who loved the company of others, telling old stories in a way that was always entertaining and funny.

She was loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, June 27, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
