Sara Scully

Sara Jane Scully, age 50, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on November 2, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Gary Scully and the late Sarah Jane (nee Martin) Scully.

Sara was the loving mother of Luke Scully-Traynor, the dear sister of Mona Bermingham (David) and the late Jeanette Scully.

Sara Jane was an incredibly kind, generous, loving soul. She always found a way to bring positivity and humor into any situation and put a smile on people's faces.

Music was an important aspect of her life. She played the electric bass which her son Luke, has followed in her legacy, learning to play bass as well. She absolutely loved seeing live music in concert. Her favorite artists were The Grateful Dead, John Prine, and Green Day. She spent many years following The Grateful Dead and seeing as many of their shows as she could.

She loved the City of Philadelphia, where she spent the majority of the later years of her life. When she went on vacations she loved to go camping or go to the beach.

Sara Jane was an incredibly strong, loving and supportive mom who was always there for her son Luke as well as his friends, lending a listening ear and steering them in the right direction. She made a lasting impact on countless people throughout her life with her wisdom, humor, and endless love.  She extended her good grace to any loved ones who were in need.

Although Sara Jane is not with us anymore, her love and positivity will never be forgotten. She made the best out of every moment of her life, regardless of what she had.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Thursday, November 11, 2021, 10:00 - 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  Interment private.
