Sandra Kay Hodge

Sandra Kay Hodge, 82, of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025.

Born in Newport News, VA, she was the eldest daughter of the late Rufus and Eco (nee Harkness) Hodge.

Sandra served honorably in the U.S. Marines Corps from 1961-1964, where she served as a Chief telephone operator at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA.

Sandra moved to Chester County, PA in 2013 to be near her sister Sally and her family. Over the last 12 years, she became a beloved member of Sally’s extended family, including nieces, nephews and their spouses, as well as many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Sandra enjoyed having her own apartment for the first time in Coatesville, PA, where she made many special friends. She was known for her kindness, her great sense of humor, and her love of all things having to do with cats. Sandra always got a kick out of a funny card, book or calendar that showcased the quirky personality of cats, and she had a lovely collection of china figurines, which displayed their beauty. She enjoyed eating out, shopping, and playing gin rummy. (She rarely lost a game!) Most of all she loved spending time with family, always taking an interest in how everyone was doing, right up until her final days.

Sandra was the beloved sister of Sally K. Fort (the late Louis A. Fort ) and Susan Devane; She was the adoring aunt of Donna, Deron, Dan, Eric, Theresa, Tammy, Michiah, Damien, and Raven. She is survived also by numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews, for whom she cared deeply. She was predeceased by sister Stacy K. Savastio (Lenny). She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
