Ruth Evelyn Roote

Ruth Evelyn Roote, born on October 29, 1943, peacefully departed this world on October 15, 2025. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship.

Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Donna Fisher, Tracey Okolowski, and Wendy Miles (Randy). She was a proud grammom to Jennifer, Jillian (Austin), Brittney (Scott), Christopher (Kate), and Danielle. Ruth was not only a grammom but also a great-grandmother to Madison (Herm), Ethan, Stanley, Abagail, Colin, and Nicholas, and was very happy to be able to meet her great-great-grandchild, Silas..

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Ruth leaves behind her beloved brother, Franklin "Bud" Frey. She was also blessed with the compassionate care of many devoted caregivers some of whom she considered daughters. A special mention goes to her dear friend, Carole Fisher, who lovingly supported Ruth during her final days, embodying the true spirit of friendship and care.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald (Buddy) Roote, who shared in her journey through life. She was also welcomed home by her parents, Franklin Cyril and Mabel Anna (Nee Nein) Frey, along with her late brother, James E. Frey, and sister, Rebecca Brode. Their memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.

Ruth found joy in life's simple pleasures and knew how to make every day fun. She loved settling in with a good movie or a new book, often with Max and Winston, her beloved dogs, close by. Cooking brought her comfort, and shopping trips (especially to Walmart) were always a weekly adventure. Ruth took pride in keeping her nails and hair looking their best, even if she couldn't reach her toes. Above all, she had a wonderfully warped sense of humor that could lift any mood. Her quick wit will be deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to know her.

The viewing for Ruth will take place on October 22, 2025, at Donohue Funeral Home in Upper Darby, PA, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Ruth's legacy of love and devotion will be honored as her family and friends gather to celebrate her life and bid farewell.
