Ruth Evelyn Dodds

Ruth Evelyn (née Heiser) Dodds, of Media, PA, sadly passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 97.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (née Cash) Heiser.

For many years, Ruth worked as a  customer service representative at Sears assisting clients with warranty support while raising her family.

Ruth was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan who rarely missed a game. She enjoyed when family and friend would sit down to watch a game with her. She loved to go to the Casinos and win on the slots, travel or spend time at the beach.

Her greatest love and devotion was to her family. You were always greeted with the biggest smile and hug. You were the most important person in the world and always her favorite. She consistently put others needs above her own and poured her heart and soul into nurturing those around her. She was always there with her advice, kindness or quick wit.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Thomas “Tom” J. Dodds, Jr.; the loving mother of Thomas P. Dodds (Gail), Michael Dodds (Susan), Robert Dodds (Colleen), Patricia Brittingham (Edward), Edward Dodds, and Karen Mullin (the late Robert). She was the caring and devoted grandmother of 17 grandchildren and dear great-grandmother of 8 great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by her sister, Cass Painter, and is predeceased by her brother, Stanley Heiser and sister, Margaret Dalton.

Family and friends are invited to remember Ruth at a Viewing on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Interment thereafter at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
