Rosemary Byrne, known to all as Rose, died on January 15, 2023.
Rose spent her early years in Florida before moving to Upper Darby in her childhood. As an adult, she returned to Florida where she spent many of her years. Later in life she returned north, where she settled down with family on a farm in Newark, DE.
She loved serving and caring for people. She spent years ministering to the homeless and was among the emergency response teams to hurricane Katrina. She also assisted with cleaning the animals on the beach who were effected by the Tampa Bay oil spill.
People were very dear to her, and if you had a problem, she wanted to help you solve it.
Her favorite book of the Bible was Revelation and she could recall long verses from the book from a young age. She loved to talk about Jesus to anyone who would listen.
She laughed at inappropriate times and always called people to sing to them on their birthdays.
If she loved you, she wanted to make sure you knew it.
Rose was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Theresa Byrne (nee Baker), brother Michael Byrne, sister-in-law Diane, and niece Nicole.
She is survived by her brothers Raymond, Richard and Daniel, and sister Patricia, as well as nieces Adrienne, Katherine, Alexandra, Samantha and nephews Joseph and Matthew, as well as many great nieces and one great nephew.
A visitation will be held at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM followed by her Funeral Service at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rose's memory to the Delaware County Victims Assistance Program at Delcovictimassistance.org would be appreciated.
